Green
The greenway is designed to include a riparian buffer to protect
Hooper's Creek, and the walkway will provide a place for employees to
exercise as they enjoy the creek. As a result of this gift, Mayor
William B. Moore nominated, and Blue Ridge Metals received, 'The Friends
of the River' award in 2002. This award is given to individuals and
organizations that have contributed to the preservation and enhancement
of the French Broad River and its tributaries. To complement this
commitment, BRM has donated an additional 10 acres along Cane Creek.
